Fabulous time eating scones outside on the sun-speckled tables with gorgeous birds flying overhead and kangaroos sunbathing on the freshly mowed lush green grass. Staff were very young but absolutely delightful. After we got back to our vehicle I noticed my battery was flat and one of the young gentlemen (staff) went to his car and gave me a mobile battery/power pack so I could start my car Never had service this good anywhere ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Fantastic views outside, can feed the birds and they land on you! Lovely home cooked meals in a homely environment, friendly ladies who are happy to help. Very good food, well cooked and a great price. The building inside is like an older style memorial Hall, complete with piano to play! Very relaxing afternoon.
Fantastic food and coffee. Warm country atmosphere, with very good and friendly service. The Bird life outside of the main cafe adds to the charm of this cafe.
Food is delicious especially the hot chocolates. Kids will love the bird feeding right out of your hand.
I had the beef and Bunya nuts home-made pie and the Bunya nut sunday ice cream with waffers all I can say is wow omg absolutely amazing and the service was second to none and the staff absolutely amazing as well. I will be back for sure x
Good food at a reasonable price (given its in the middle of a national park.) A pie with a generous serve of chips will set you back about $15 (May 2023) - and a couple of pies include bunya nuts as one of the ingredients. There is lots of seating, but I expect it fills quickly during busy times, so bring a picnic blanket as a backup. There are a couple of bird feeding stations and wallabies wander the surrounding grass lawns.
Sensational homemade Beef & Bunya Nut Pie! This is a winner! A perfect short crust pastry, golden and flakey, then bite inside to the hot creamy chunky filling. Yumm! The hard working staff were absolutely run off their feet 2 days in a row yet always so friendly and smiling. Thank you for great catering in a remote location.
The home-made pies at this place were sooooo delicious! I had the lamb with salad and took the beef and bunya nut pie home (frozen). I love that they incorporated the bunya but in the meals to try. They had 3 types of soup which I was impressed with too. I loved sitting outside in the sun on the little tables. The birds were flying around to visit, which was nice. I would recommend a little station point under the verandah outside where people can put thier scraps in the bin and leave thier plates in a container with a lid as the birds would scavenge all the leftovers from the plate. If the waitress asked me to do that, I would not mind at all as I know the birds should not be eating food outside what they normally eat or processed food Plus, it grosses me out to think the birds might be pooping on the table or plates. The cafe needs a bit of a spruce up to have a more warm, cosy and unique atmosphere. But other than that, I highly recommend, excellent service and would be my go to place if I ever came back And I would buy more pies to take home!
